Keith Parker is a globally experienced, exceptionally talented marketing, communications and project management professional. In his current role, he leads the marketing and communications efforts for the Greater Sacramento Economic Council: An organization charged with branding the Greater Sacramento region and attracting new business to its communities.
He is also responsible for the success of several internationally recognized communications projects on behalf prominent companies and entities within the UAE, including the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Center. Keith also established himself as an entrepreneur by co-founding and managing Parker Event Management DMCC.
At the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, Keith led a transformative shift in the way the communications department functions. Following a period of decreased print and digital visibility, Keith led an increase of the Institute’s Ad-Value metric by 61% in his first year in the role. He also led the development of new digital projects, including a news website and newsletter, improved organizational efficiencies, large-scale launches, and much more. Keith’s impact is typically marked by significant stakeholder engagement and collaboration across a broad spectrum entities. He has led joint engagements with over 150 organizations, including The White House, The UAE’s Prime Minister’s Office, The Clinton Foundation, The UAE’s Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, IRENA, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, GE, Maersk, BP, Siemens, Engie, UNEP, and many others.
As Director of Projects at the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce, overseeing the UAE Academy, he led the re-launch of the Abu Dhabi School of Management (ADSM) in collaboration with a renowned UK University and led the formulation of an NQA-aligned series of vocational business training programs for corporate and public sector clients. Additionally, he launched the Insight Magazine and introduced new organizational efficiencies throughout the organization. Keith contributed to significant business growth at GPC Group, a leading Abu Dhabi GIS entity, and has contributed to projects in the Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Center (ADSIC) (The NOC Program) and the Abu Dhabi Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) (The ADAGS Program). Within the ADAGS Program, Keith developed the marketing and communications framework for the re-addressing of the entire Abu Dhabi Emirate. Through 3 years with Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, he was among the founding team for the Abu Dhabi Eye on Earth Summit, which attracted an international participation of over 2,000 people and featured former US president Bill Clinton. He acted as a Project Manager on the event and led its stakeholder engagement and outreach. Additionally, he led the completion of the Environmental Atlas of Abu Dhabi Emirate – in bookstores throughout the UAE and handed as a diplomatic gift by royalty internationally.
Education and Interests
He was awarded a BSBA from the University of Southern California, currently ranked 3rd in International Business by US News and World Report, and maintains Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Keith’s career has spanned 3 continents, with work in Alaska, Hawaii, California, Greece, Italy, Germany and the United Arab Emirates. Keith enjoys hiking, skydiving, scuba diving, and other outdoor adventures.
